Interview with Dale Sutherland, Hypnosis Healer

Writer: Eleanor WohlEleanor Wohl

I'm so excited to share this very interesting interview with y'all! But first, some backstory...

I was sitting at SkyZone watching my kiddos (as one does) when my kids started fussing with another set of brothers over a foam block (as kids do).

I started talking to the mom of the other kids and she was so fascinating!

Her name is Dale Sutherland and she's a local hypnosis healer.

I have very limited experience with hypnosis but found it to be deeply impactful when I've encountered it in the past.

So I did what any normal person does and asked if I could interview her for the blog! I wanted to learn more and share with y'all in case any of y'all were curious too.

If you've ever wanted to know more about hypnosis and past life regression (cue "Reincarnated" by Kendrick Lamar), read on!

I especially love her answer on how to cope in these scary, trying times. It really grounded me.

Enjoy!

1. Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Dale Sutherland, and like all women, I’ve worn many hats in this life. I hold a master’s degree in forensic science, but my most important role is being a full-time mom to my twin boys. In addition, I’m a part-time quantum hypnosis healer.

In many ways, my work is similar to that of a therapist, but with a key difference — I understand that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. Many of the physical and emotional challenges we face stem from subconscious patterns we’ve picked up in this life or even in others.

To put it simply, our brains function like supercomputers, wirelessly connected to our soul. Each of us has an oversoul — or higher self — that exists beyond time and space, experiencing multiple lives and timelines simultaneously. While we often refer to these as “past lives,” a more accurate term would be “parallel lives,” as time isn’t as linear as we perceive it. In reality, everything is happening at once, though time flows differently throughout the universe.

Our souls volunteered to incarnate on this planet as part of an advanced school for growth and ascension. But just like a computer, our brains can become fragmented by trauma, creating glitches in our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. When trauma occurs across multiple timelines, these glitches can compound, affecting us in profound ways.

That’s why I practice Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique (QHHT), a method developed by Dolores Cannon. I see it as a necessary “brain defragmentation” that allows us to identify and heal the subconscious wounds keeping us stuck. Through deep guided meditation, we access the part of the subconscious that’s directly linked to the consciousness of our oversoul. This process reveals the root causes of limiting beliefs — whether from this life or another — so we can release them and step into our highest potential.

I truly believe that one day, quantum physics will validate what many of us already intuitively know: healing our internal connection to mind, body, and spirit creates a powerful ripple effect in the world around us. Because we are all connected to Source (or God through our oversoul), personal transformation naturally lifts others as well. QHHT is a profound, all-in-one healing approach that helps uncover the source of any issue and paves the way for true alignment and growth.

2. What inspired you to pursue a career in hypnosis?

I became a new mom to twins at the very beginning of the 2020 pandemic, a time of overwhelming uncertainty. Like many, I found myself consumed by fear, believing the world was unraveling. The weight of bringing children into such chaos filled me with guilt and anxiety — feelings so intense they were taking a toll on my health. I knew I needed healing.

Therapy often begins with inner child work, asking the fundamental question: Who am I? That question opens the door to awakening. But as someone who experienced complex childhood trauma, I struggled to grasp my memories. I was determined to find a way to unlock them.

For as long as I could remember, I had vivid dreams — ones that felt like more than just dreams. Deep down, I always sensed there was more to reality than what we experience in waking life.

That curiosity led me to the work of Dolores Cannon. She had this warm, grandmotherly presence as she spoke about healing people in miraculous ways simply by helping them access their subconscious mind — the infinite supercomputer of the brain.

Intrigued, I found a local practitioner and booked a session. That single experience gave me everything I had been searching for. I was shown memories from my childhood, including the exact moment I had been forced to suppress my grief over losing someone I loved. That realization hit me like a lightning bolt — I saw how that one moment shaped my entire life, causing me to deny myself emotional space in every relationship I had ever been in.

That session changed me. It changed the way I existed in the world. And for weeks after, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I had to learn this method myself. I knew, without a doubt, that this work had the power to transform lives — one person at a time. So I followed that calling, and it has been one of the most fulfilling journeys of my life.

My favorite moment in every session is when my client wakes up with the same expression I once had — that look of astonishment, like they’ve just uncovered a truth they always felt but couldn’t quite reach. They walk in uncertain, not knowing what to expect. But they leave lighter, freer — no longer afraid of life, but ready to take the reins and truly enjoy the ride.

3. Is there a certain type of client you love to work with?

I genuinely love working with open-minded clients. The best sessions happen when someone comes in with a clear intention or a specific issue they need guidance on. I also appreciate clients who have a regular meditation practice, as they tend to enter the deep theta brainwave state more easily. For those looking to prepare, I always recommend Yoga Nidra, as it helps train the body to be asleep while the mind remains awake — an essential state for this work to be most effective.

Lately, I’ve been especially fascinated by the connection between physical health issues and their subconscious origins. I’ve worked with two women who had ovarian fibroid cysts, and in both cases, their subconscious revealed past-life memories of sexual trauma. When I asked their higher consciousness to heal the cysts, they both described seeing the process like a garden being cleared of weeds. That same evening — despite neither being due for their cycle — they both began menstruating. Later medical checkups confirmed that the fibroids were no longer present.

This aligns with what I’ve read in other cases — such as breast cancer patients discovering that their illness was rooted in repressed grief, and after fully processing their emotions, going into remission. One case I found particularly fascinating involved a man with lifelong asthma. During his session, he uncovered a past life in which he had died from toxic exposure while mining in caves. Three months after his session, his asthma disappeared completely.

I believe that in hypnosis, we tap into the same part of the brain responsible for spontaneous healing — the phenomenon we call the placebo effect. The only real limitation is our own belief system. The scientist in me is deeply excited by the potential of gathering more evidence on how this method works and, ultimately, helping more people heal.

4. What can someone expect in a hypnosis session?

The first hypnosis session is the longest, typically lasting between 4 to 6 hours. This is because we begin by getting to know you — your experiences, challenges, and what you hope to gain from the session. Once we’ve established a clear intention, we ease into a guided meditation to help you relax deeply, allowing your conscious mind to let go. Our goal is to reach the theta brainwave state — the state just before sleep, where your subconscious is most accessible.

Once you’re deeply relaxed, we ask to be shown a time and place that holds the key to understanding your current patterns or struggles. This often brings us to a childhood memory from this life or even a past (or parallel) life. When accessing past life memories, most people experience them from either a first-person perspective — seeing through the eyes of that lifetime — or from a detached, bird’s-eye view. Details can be remarkably vivid, from the clothing and architecture to the materials used to build a home. If we can identify historical markers, we can often determine the time period and region of the world being shown.

From there, we explore three significant moments in that life, all the way through to the transition after death. The purpose is to uncover the lessons and patterns that life holds and how they connect to your present experience. Ideally, we repeat this process for three lifetimes, gathering insight from different fragments of your soul’s journey.

Afterward, we shift into direct communication with your superconscious or oversoul. This is an open conversation where we address the questions you prepared beforehand. During this phase, we also scan the body for any energetic imbalances or physical ailments that need attention. Many clients report sensing the presence of loved ones who come through with messages or guidance.

It’s important to note that not everyone immediately sees past life memories. You are only shown what your oversoul and guides know you are ready to process. You will never be forced to relive pain or fear. Each session is unique and unfolds in exactly the way you need it to.

Once the session is complete, I gently guide you back to full awareness. Since the experience can feel dreamlike, not everyone remembers everything right away, which is why I provide a video and audio recording for you to review later. Most clients find that even a single session creates profound shifts in their reality. However, deeper healing and transformation often come with multiple sessions as layers continue to unfold.

5. There's a lot of fear and uncertainty right now (understandably so), how do you orient around what's happening on a larger scale? What are ways we can cope with this anxiety and fear?

I love this question because it speaks directly to the heart of my own healing journey. Becoming a new mom during the pandemic was not something I breezed through — it shook me to my core. Fear about the future of this planet consumed me, and I wrestled with the unsettling thought that I had brought my children into a world that felt doomed. That emotional rock bottom propelled me into therapy, where I learned about anxiety, healing, and the nervous system.

Through that process, I discovered deeper truths — ones that helped prove my fears wrong. The world isn’t doomed, but there are systemic forces trying their hardest to convince us otherwise. If you’ve ever gone down a rabbit hole of truth, you know that the deeper you go, the darker the revelations about our history and present circumstances can seem. At times, ignorance really does feel like bliss.

One of the most profound lessons I’ve learned is that our brains are not designed to absorb the sheer amount of news and information we take in daily. Most of the media we consume is fear-based, designed to evoke anger and hopelessness. In every single client session I’ve conducted, a common message from their higher self is “Turn off the news.” The second piece of advice is always: “Go outside and connect with nature.” Something as simple as touching the grass, looking at flowers, listening to the sound of water, or feeling the wind on your skin can interrupt spiraling thoughts and bring you back to the present moment.

Another crucial shift is recognizing that FEAR stands for False Evidence Assumed Real. We play catastrophic stories in our minds of what could happen, but what if we intentionally replaced those with the belief that everything is unfolding for the highest good?

Quantum physics supports this idea. We live in a multidimensional reality where the principle “As above, so below. As within, so without” holds true. In other words, the way we direct our energy and thoughts does influence the reality we experience. This is why I refer to television as “tell-a-vision” — because much of what we consume is intentionally designed to implant visions of a fearful future. When we recognize this, we can reclaim our power by consciously withdrawing our attention from those narratives and instead affirming:

“I do not consent to any timelines that are not in alignment with humanity’s highest good.”

The most effective way to heal the world is to start with ourselves. Focus on your corner of the world and make it a better place. Healing isn’t just personal — it ripples outward in ways we can’t always see.

The 100th Monkey Effect: Proof That Healing is Contagious

Science has even demonstrated our interconnectedness. The 100th Monkey Effect is a phenomenon first observed in the 1950s when Japanese scientists studying monkeys on an island noticed that once a critical number of monkeys (about the 100th one) adopted a new behavior — washing sweet potatoes — suddenly, monkeys on entirely separate islands, who had never been in contact with them, began doing the same.

This suggests that consciousness and behavior are transmitted beyond just physical connection. When enough people shift their thinking, their healing, or their way of being, the entire collective starts to shift. This is why personal healing is so much bigger than just us — it has an exponential effect.

The Rise of the Divine Feminine and the Future We Are Creating

Right now, we are living through a divine feminine rebalancing. Imagine if all of us mothers were healed, empowered, and raising children who were allowed to become the fullest expression of themselves. We could change the world in just one generation. And we are doing that.

Yes, the world may look chaotic — war, division, scarcity — but much of this darkness has always been there, just hidden. Now, it is being revealed so it can be healed. Even as more shadows emerge, we must trust that we are moving toward a higher timeline for humanity. We each hold the power to choose love instead of fear, and our choices don’t just affect us — they create ripples across the collective.

When we step into authentic living, raise our vibration, and embody love and compassion, we influence others on an energetic level. One person’s healing inspires and activates healing in those around them. We are all connected, and together, we are building a future that is brighter than we ever imagined.

6. Have you ever had an experience with hypnosis that really surprised you? One that was a "holy shit!" moment?

I’ve had too many surprising experiences to count, and it’s only been a few years. What fascinates me most is finding ways to verify the information that comes through in these sessions.

One of the most striking experiences happened when two separate clients recalled past life details about the same military member. Their descriptions were astonishing—names of ships, siblings, exact years of service, battle locations, and even details about the uniforms worn at the time. Since military records are meticulously kept, I was able to confirm their accounts. Some might argue that my clients had somehow absorbed this information beforehand, but I assure you, they were just as shocked as I was when we discovered that the person they recalled had actually lived and died.

Now, imagine if we took this phenomenon seriously. What forgotten histories could we recover? What knowledge about the past could we access?

Another experience that left me questioning the nature of reality was with my first somnambulist client. This is someone who goes so deeply into trance that they usually have no memory of what they say or experience during the session.

This client found themselves in a past life as someone grappling with a deeply personal choice shaped by cultural and religious beliefs. Through our conversation, they were able to see a different perspective—one rooted in love and acceptance rather than rigid traditions. When they emerged from the session, they realized that this experience reflected a struggle they were facing in their current life. By gaining insight into the emotions behind it, they were able to release shame and find peace.

That session left me with a question I still think about today. Did we alter a past timeline? It felt certain that without this moment of reflection, the past version of this individual would have made a very different decision. Could we be rewriting history in moments like these?

Another somnambulist client came to me carrying deep pain over their late father. He had been deeply flawed and had caused lasting harm within the family. My client felt conflicted—torn between resentment and a desire to heal and move forward.

Unlike most past life regressions, which start in childhood, this session began at the very end of a life. The client found themselves as an elderly woman walking alone in the woods. When I asked if they were holding anything, after a long pause, they said, “A shovel.”

Now I was really intrigued.

They explained that after their husband passed away, they found a letter from him with a map leading to something buried. They followed it to the marked spot and started digging. What they found was a box of letters—confessions. There were several of them, each detailing hidden truths about their husband’s past actions, things that had caused harm to others.

They were devastated. For decades, they had been married to a person they thought they knew. Now, standing in the woods, they realized they had unknowingly shared their life with someone who had caused immense suffering.

At first, they wanted to keep the secret, believing there was no justice left now that he was gone. But I encouraged them to consider the families affected by what had happened. They finally agreed to share the truth, allowing long-buried pain to come to light and giving closure to those who had spent years searching for answers.

After the session, I asked their higher self how this past life connected to my client’s current one. The response was shocking.

The people who had been harmed in that past life were now close family members in this one. They had reincarnated together, unknowingly bound by the same trauma. Their father in this lifetime had been given a chance to heal past harm by learning to love and care for those he had once wronged, but instead, he repeated the same destructive patterns.

Then my client made a profound connection.

For the first time, they saw the pattern clearly. They realized they didn’t have to carry the weight of those past choices anymore. The past was not theirs to hold.

That session changed the way I see karma, family bonds, and healing. If we do reincarnate in groups to resolve past wounds, then breaking cycles isn’t just about personal healing—it’s about setting entire lineages free.

7. Outside of work, what are your favorite things to do?

Outside of hypnosis, I try to be an artist — or at least, I’m learning to embrace that part of myself. For a long time, I struggled with that inner critic, the one that whispers, “You have nothing worth sharing,” or “Why even bother painting or journaling?” That voice held me back for years, but I’m healing by learning to silence it. Now, I create simply for the joy of creating.

I love experimenting with all kinds of art. Sometimes I paint, other times I work with clay, resin, or diamond art. I never limit myself to just one medium because I find so much freedom in trying new things. I even have an entire crafting corner of the house dedicated to my creative chaos.

Beyond art, I love to garden. It is grounding and reminds me to slow down and be present. I’m also in the process of learning how to ride horses, which has been both exciting and humbling. There is something about connecting with such powerful, intuitive animals that feels deeply healing.

Reading is another passion of mine. I love getting lost in books that expand my mind and spark my imagination. One of my favorite recommendations is The Fifth Sacred Thing. I feel like it is incredibly timely and resonates deeply with what we are going through now. Beyond being an exciting and immersive story, it explores themes of resilience, interconnectedness, and the kind of future we have the power to create.

What has fascinated me the most is how quantum physics has revealed that creative work is a powerful way to access the flow state, the place where true magic happens. When we are in the flow state, we are directly linked to the power of our higher self. It is in this state that some of the most brilliant ideas, inventions, and insights come through, because we are open conduits for something greater than ourselves. Dance is another beautiful way to tap into flow state. Moving the body freely, without overthinking, allows energy to flow and creativity to awaken.

Flow is also a meditative state. Many people think of meditation as sitting still in silence, but we don’t have to be motionless to experience it. Any activity that fully absorbs us — painting, gardening, dancing, riding a horse — can bring us into a deeply present, meditative flow. It is in these moments that we connect with something greater than ourselves, where time seems to disappear, and pure inspiration moves through us effortlessly.

Even more beautifully, the truths we express act like guerilla seeds of truth that plant themselves in the subconscious of others, whether or not they agree with or even consciously register them. And like all seeds, those planted truths have the potential to sprout into magical growth for everyone. That is why I believe creativity, in any form, is one of the most powerful and necessary things we can engage in.

For me, fun is anything that brings me closer to that flow, whether it is creating, dancing, nurturing the earth, bonding with a horse, or getting lost in a powerful book.

That is, of course, when I can actually find the time between chasing my toddlers, who seem to have an unlimited supply of energy and a shared mission to test the limits of my sanity. Honestly, at this point, just drinking my coffee while it’s still hot feels like a hobby worth celebrating.
